The Vacancy
We have an exciting opportunity to join our Development department on a permanent basis. This wide ranging role will be responsible for supporting the Glyndebourne Development team in all aspects of its activity with Glyndebourne’s donors and prospects. Duties include research into donor prospects, maintaining accurate donor and departmental records, assisting with incoming enquiries and providing general administrative support to a busy Development Team.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities
Maintaining accurate departmental records for donors and donations on the fundraising database (Tessitura), liaising with the fundraising team to assist and help with record management, as well as filing and recording data and materials in accordance with general data protection regulation.
Supporting the Prospect Researcher with event biographies and research projects as and when required.
Managing thanking protocols for the department to ensure donors are thanked in a timely and appropriate manner.
Assisting with donor receptions during the Glyndebourne festival and autumn season and at other events for donors and prospects throughout the year.
Assisting the Events Manager with Festival bookings for major donors and arrangements for syndicate dinners.
Assisting the Development Team in collating accurate data for reporting purposes.
Ensuring donor name listings are accurate and kept up to date for both the annual programme book and other credit listings.
Providing general assistance to the Development Office and performing other reasonable job-related or ad-hoc tasks within the scope and responsibility of the role as required.
Where required, working outside of standard office hours including evenings and weekends (time off in lieu is available).
Maintaining the efficiency and smooth running of the Development Office.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
Essential
Professional and friendly communication style and ability to interact with a wide range of people.
Efficient time management and ability to multitask against deadlines, with an organised, focused and calm approach.
Experience of a CRM system or a demonstrable willingness to learn and become proficient in this area.
Good at working independently, prioritising, managing reactive work, balancing multiple requirements, adapting to new situations and using initiative with an eye for detail.
Ambition to learn and become an integral part of the team.
Hours of Work
The contractual hours of work are 35 hours per week 9:30am-5:30pm Monday - Friday with a one hour lunch break. The role will involve unsociable hours including evenings and weekends during the Glyndebourne Festival, Autumn Season and at other times of the year.
Salary and Benefits
We can offer a salary of £24,000 per annum.
We offer 33 days (6.6 weeks) holiday inclusive of bank holidays, per annum, pro rata. We also give additional non-contractual closure dates at Christmas.
