This is a Temporary, Full Time vacancy that will close in {x} days at {xx:xx} BST.

We are seeking a proactive and precise Finance Assistant to join our team on a 12 month fixed-term contract. This is a unique, varied role that begins with a minimum two-month period focused on our Artist Ledger, before moving into maternity cover encompassing broader financial and commercial operations.

The successful candidate will be a professional, adaptable individual with a "can-do" attitude, capable of maintaining high levels of confidentiality while managing a diverse workload.

Key Tasks & Responsibilities

Phase 1: Artist Ledger (Initial 2 Months)

  • Payment Processing: Ensure the timely payment of fees, per diems, rental payments, and invoices for singers, creative teams, and freelancers.
  • Tax Compliance: Manage UK income tax for overseas artists, including withholding tax deductions and assisting with FEU returns to HMRC.
  • Liaison: Act as the primary point of contact for artists, agents, and freelancers regarding all payment-related queries.

Phase 2: Finance & Accounting (Maternity cover)

  • Banking & Reconciliations: Perform weekly bank reconciliations using Business Central; manage monthly physical petty cash counts and digital sales reconciliations.
  • Ledger Management: Process purchase ledgers and manage monthly Sales Ledgers across multiple accounts.
  • Payments & Control: Oversee the weekly payment run and manage internal sales control accounts between group entities.
  • Credit Control: Monitor and report on aged debtors and aged creditors.
  • Month & Year-End: Finalise journals ensuring all accounts are balanced and posted.

Commercial & Operational Support

  • Retail Operations: Manage cash takings and collections during peak seasons (Festival & Autumn) and calculate quarterly shop royalties.
  • Utility Management: Maintain meter readings, submit quarterly Gas & Power readings, and raise corresponding invoices.
  • Communication: Act as a central point of contact for daily email queries and participate in weekly review meetings to resolve financial discrepancies.

Knowledge, Skills & Experience

Essential

  • Professionalism: You must always maintain a high level of confidentiality and discretion.
  • Technical Skills: Previous experience with Business Central, Excel and Google Workspace is highly desirable.
  • Precision: Exceptional attention to detail, ensuring accurate working across all ledgers and returns.
  • Adaptability: A positive work ethic with the ability to learn quickly and adapt to the evolving needs of the Company.

Salary, Hours & Benefits

We can offer an competitive salary. Salaries are reviewed annually on 1st January.

This is a 12 month, fixed-term position. The contractual hours of work are 35 per week, Monday-Friday however you may be required to work additional hours to meet the demands of the role.

We offer 6.6 weeks / 33 days annual leave (including bank holidays) per annum, pro rata.
