The Vacancy
We are currently recruiting for a Health and Safety Manager to join Glyndebourne on a 12 month, fixed-term contract.
The Health and Safety Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and managing comprehensive health and safety practices to ensure a safe and efficient working environment across the organisation.
This role guarantees the organisation's adherence to the most stringent H&S legislation and best practice while applying creative and flexible approaches to risk management that are sympathetic to the unique and evolving needs of a dynamic performing arts environment.
Core responsibilities include providing oversight for all health and safety matters, developing and maintaining the organisation's H&S policy, leading all risk assessment and management initiatives (including for complex production and site-wide operations), directing accident and incident reporting procedures (including statutory RIDDOR compliance), managing all mandatory training and induction programs, and chairing the safety committee.
The role demands a proactive, visible presence, providing expert guidance, and fostering a proactive and positive safety culture across all organisational tiers.

Salary, Hours & Benefits
We can offer a salary of c.£45,000 per annum. Salaries are reviewed annually on 1st January.
This is a 12 month, fixed-term position. The hours of work are 35 per week Monday-Friday with an hour for lunch. However you may be required to work additional hours to meet the demands of the role. This is an in-person position, onsite at Glyndebourne.
